What should I check before I call for AC repair?

Confirm the thermostat is set to cool and set below room temperature, replace a dirty air filter, and check that the breaker has not tripped. Reset a tripped breaker once; if it trips again, leave it off and call for service.

Why is there ice on my air conditioner?

Ice usually means restricted airflow, such as a clogged filter or blocked vents, or low refrigerant from a leak. Turn cooling off, run the fan to thaw it, and call for service if it freezes again.

Can you repair an older system that uses R-22 refrigerant?

Yes, many R-22 systems can still be repaired. Production and import of R-22 ended in 2020, so any repair that needs refrigerant depends on reclaimed supply, and we will explain your repair and replacement options.
